Program Overview

About this program

The Doctor of Ministry in practical theology is for practitioners researching the theology embedded in ordinary practice. Ordinary ministry practice already contains a theology; the discipline is describing it accurately before judging it. This ICAS-accredited Kingdom of Life University pathway covers the main theories, thick description, methods of theological reflection, qualitative inquiry and its ethics when you are researching your own community, and the reform of inherited practice.

Competency-Based Ministry Assessment

Recognition of demonstrated learning in theology and ministry

Experienced ministry practitioners demonstrate competencies developed through years of service, theological study, and continuing learning. The assessment connects that learning with the published outcomes of the Doctor of Ministry in Practical Theology through biblical understanding, theological reflection, research, and ministry judgment.
