Program Overview
About this program
The Doctor of Ministry in evangelism is for leaders training congregations to speak to people who are not asking. Training a congregation to speak about Christ is a different discipline from being able to do it yourself. This ICAS-accredited Kingdom of Life University pathway covers the theology of conversion, the history of evangelistic practice including methods whose effects were not what was claimed, member training with practice and feedback, evangelistic preaching without manipulation, honest objections, follow-up, and truthful evaluation.
Competency-Based Ministry Assessment
Recognition of demonstrated learning in theology and ministry
Experienced ministry practitioners demonstrate competencies developed through years of service, theological study, and continuing learning. The assessment connects that learning with the published outcomes of the Doctor of Ministry in Evangelism through biblical understanding, theological reflection, research, and ministry judgment.

Doctoral Seminar: Old Testament Theology
The Old Testament's account of God's purpose toward the nations, which is the ground of the New Testament's mission.

Doctoral Seminar: Christian Doctrine
The doctrines at stake: sin, atonement and conversion, stated precisely enough to know what is being asked of a person.
Doctoral Seminar: Theology of Conversion
A theology of conversion, covering regeneration, repentance, faith, and the disputes over how conversion is recognised and described.
Doctoral Seminar: History of Evangelistic Practice
The history of evangelistic practice, covering revivalism, crusade, and the methods whose effects were not what their advocates claimed.
Doctoral Seminar: Personal Evangelism Training
Training members in personal evangelism, covering realistic expectation, practice, feedback, and who will actually do it.
Doctoral Seminar: Evangelistic Preaching
Evangelistic preaching, covering address to the unconvinced, the appeal, and the difference between persuasion and manipulation.
Specialization Subjects
Six more that take the field into the places it actually gets used.
Doctoral Seminar: Evangelism and Honest Objections
Honest objections, covering the questions people actually raise and the judgement about when an objection is a wound.
Doctoral Seminar: Follow-Up and Assimilation
Follow-up and assimilation, covering the first year, the habits established then, and the common failure to plan for it.
Doctoral Seminar: Evaluating Evangelistic Ministry
Evaluating evangelistic ministry, covering indicators, the temptation to report early, and honest accounting including null results.
